Bio

Born in New Orleans, L.Kasimu was hooked on Creole food, jazz and reading The Times-Picayune by the second grade. Yet his journalism career didn’t begin until 2002, when he started writing for the student newspaper, Sidelines, at Middle Tennessee State University. After graduating from MTSU with a degree in entrepreneurship, L. Kasimu began a master's in journalism at Ole Miss and graduated in spring 2008. L.Kasimu says he's comfortable almost anywhere and his photography and reporting have taken him from Grenada, Miss. to South Africa, Rome and Paris. He enjoys using multimedia to communicate in-depth stories to, for and about people. He aspires to be a great storyteller, travel the world and live in New York.
