Bio

Sammy Mack grew up in Gulfport, Fla., where she was raised on the St. Petersburg Times. She freelanced for alt weeklies and magazines as an undergrad in Philadelphia (UPenn) and spent a year at a regional magazine in Southwest Florida before heading to New Orleans for grad school. Sammy is finishing a master's at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and plans to make public health her beat.
